The joining of five PhD doctors from foreign countries in Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar is a breath of fresh air at a time when there is a massive exodus of educated youth from the country. These new and committed PhD doctors will prove to be a valuable asset not only to KMU but to the entire province. Their joining KMU will improve the overall ranking of the university as well as the quality of knowledge and research.
These views have been expressed by vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Zia ul Haq in a prestigious ceremony organized on the occasion of joining the university recently after completing PhD in various fields from foreign countries. Deans and heads of various departments of the university were also present on this occasion.
Professor Dr. Zia ul Haq said that these young PhD doctors are our valuable asset and the university not only congratulates them on completing their PhD, but also expects that their involvement will contribute to knowledge and research in various fields.
He said that the inclusion of these five PhD doctors is not only a manifestation of their confidence in KMU, but it is also reflects their determination that they have the passion to render valuable services to the country and especially to their province.
It is worth mentioning that among the PhD doctors who have recently joined KMU, Dr. Maria Ishaq completed her PhD from Malaysia in Dental Public Health, Dr. Shaista Rasool from UK in Public Health, Dr. Adnan Khan from Australia in Vision Sciences, Dr. Nasir Ahmad from UK in Pharmacology and Dr. Muhammad Waseem Khan holds PhD in Pharmaceutics from China.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maria Ishaq, Dr. Shaista Rasool, Dr. Adnan Khan, Dr. Nasir Ahmed and Dr. Muhammad Waseem Khan have described the completion of their PhD as a sign of KMU's confidence. They thanked vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq for his encouragement and expressed their determination that they will live up to the trust of KMU and play their best role in solving the health issues faced by the province.
