Rubina Qasim and her team from Dow Institue of Nursing & Midwifery, DUHS Karachi in collaboration with Dr. Sabiha and the team from Khyber Medical University Institute of Nursing sciences successfully conducted a one-day research capacity-building workshop for nurse educators, nurse researchers, and nurse leaders at KMU INS Peshawar on 18 July. The workshop was funded by Oxford University UK. Along with facilitators from the Dow Institute of Nursing & Midwifery, Professor Julie Leask from Sydney University, Australia was also a keynote speaker. Participants were trained to use co-design methodology by actively involving communities, important stakeholders, and influencers in designing nurse/midwife-led community-based research projects and interventions. An overwhelming response was received from the participants, asking for more similar activities in the future to improve the research capacity of nurses all over Pakistan. Team leads Dr. Sabiha from Khyber Medical University Institute of Nursing Sciences and Rubina Qasim from Dow University also emphasized further strengthening of mutual research and academic collaborations between the two Universities.
