Eighth Meeting of KMU Syndicate Held

The Khyber Medical University (KMU) approved affiliation of Pakistan Institute of Prosthetic & Orthotic Sciences (PIPOS), for B.Sc Prosthetic & Orthotic, Hafeez Institute of Medical Sciences, Peshawar for B.Sc Medical Lab Technology (Provisionally for one year), Women Medical & Dental College, Abbotabad for MBBS/BDS, Post Graduate Paramedics Institute, LRH Peshawar for B.Sc in different technologies (conditionally for one year) and Royal College of Nursing, Swat  for B.Sc Nursing  subject to fulfillment of certain deficiencies  within the specified period of time, it was decided by KMU Syndicate in its 8th meeting held at IBMS campus under the chairman ship of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah VC KMU, while besides others Mr. Sajjad Ullah Khan MPA, Mr. Muhammad Idrees Khan Additional Secretary Finance, Mrs. Ammara Aamer Khattak Deputy Secretary Establishment Department, Dr. Fazal Mahmood Registrar, Mr. Abdul Siddique Treasurer and Prof. Dr. Shahnaz Akhtar Controller of Examination also attended the meeting.

The syndicate has approved appointment of Dr. Najeeb Ullah, Dr. Fazal Wahab, Dr. Khalid Khan, and Dr. Nazish Farooq against the post of Assistant Professor for the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS) on regular basis. Moreover, the syndicate in the same meeting also approved appointment of Dr. Mohsin Shah, Dr. Amir Ali Khan, Dr. Tayyab Ur Rahman, Dr. Haroon Khan and Dr. Roshan Ali against the posts of Assistant Professor (BPS-19)  on Tenure Track System (TTS)for IBMS for a period of three years as per HEC guidelines / KMU Service Rules, 2010. The Syndicate in the same meeting also approved appointments of Mr. Muhammad Zubair Khan and Mr. Danish Ali Khan against the posts of Lecturer (BPS-18) for PGCN and IPM&R respectively.

The Syndicate in its 8th meeting approved appointment of Mr. Irshad Ahmad Sabri as Project Director, while  Mr. Noor Shah Jehan as Project Manager, Mr. M.Tariq as Assistant Director (Civil) and Syed Ismail Shah as Project Accountant, Mr. Wasim Riaz and Mr. Fawad Abdullah as Deputy Treasurer (BPS-18) and Mr. Arshad Ali Khan as Audit Officer in (BPS-17). In the said meeting, the Syndicate also approved appointment of Mr. Nasrullah and Mr. Waseem Hassan Khan as Assistant Controller of Examination (BPS-17) and procurement Officer (BPS-17) respectively. The Syndicate approved the appointment of Mrs. Mehrun Nisa and Ms.Nasreen Ghani as Assistant Professors (BPS-19) and Ms. Shaheen Ghani as Lecturer (BPS-18) for PGCN, Dr. Noreen Ajaz Khan as Curriculum Coordinator and Mr. Fawad Ahmad as Assistant Director, Admissions in (BPS-17) respectively.

The house accorded approval for the adaptation of the Policy Guidelines against Sexual Harassment in Institutions of Higher Learning/Universities, developed and proposed by the HEC in KMU in letter and spirit and authorized the Vice Chancellor to establish Harassment Complaint Cell, nominate Harassment Monitoring Officer and create Hearing Panel for Sexual Harassment as per requirement of the HEC said Policy Guidelines as deemed appropriate.

Being an autonomous body for the employees of KMU the Syndicate approved the proposed amendments in the Medical Attendance Rules, 2008. The Syndicate approved revised / enhanced rates of house subsidy and house requisition and Medical allowance for regular employees of KMU on the analogy of the HEC w.e.f 1.7.2011 and 1.7.2010 respectively. The Syndicate also approved amendment in probation period of KMU employees from two to one year
