Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Iqbal Zafar Jaghra Inaugurated 39th Annual Pathology Conference at KMU

The Pakistan Association of Pathologists 39th Annual Conference and 4th Joint conference of associations of Pathology was held at Khyber Medical University on 24th – 26th November, 2016. The six associations of Pathology participated in this event were:

  1. Pakistan Association of Haematologists

  2. Pakistan Association of Histopathology and cytology

  3. Pakistan Association of Chemical Pathologists

  4. Association of Molecular Pathology, Pakistan

  5. Infectious Disease and Microbiology Society of Pakistan

  6. Pakistan Association of Immunologists

The first day stated with 7 pre-conference workshops:

  1. Assays of Coagulopathies

  2. Biomedical Ethics

  3. Data analysis and hands-on training on SPSS

  4. Quality control and haemavigilance in safe blood transfusion

  5. PCR and its application in Diagnostics

  6. Quality management in Histopathology

  7. Next generation sequencing – principles and practices

A total of 197 students and researchers attended these workshops.

The conference inauguration was held on the 25th of November. Governor KPK honourable Ishaq Zafar Jhagra Inaugurated the conference and visited the biomedical corporate exhibition. The inauguration was followed by keynote scientific talks from each of the participating societies. Workshop on Morphological diagnosis of Haematological Disorders
