Khyber Medical University - Promoting diversity and equal opportunity in medicine and allied health sciences

KMU is dedicated to promoting equal opportunity for girls of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to excel in medicine and allied health sciences. In connection to this, female students from KMU participated in a function organized by the DCO Peshawar office at Nishtar hall Peshawar on 11th February, 2017 - the International Day for Girls and Women in Science. 

Girls from the Institute of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Medicine (IPMR), Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPMS) and Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS) participated. Each institute showcased their achievements as posters and models on stalls. Two speakers from KMU delivered speeches in front of a large audience. The speakers (Dr Shabnam and Nudrat) encouraged the young audience to pursue a carrier in basic and allied health sciences. They focused on how KMU has played a role in promoting gender equality in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Director AA&QA Professor Muhammad Ilyas Saeedi visited the stalls and met with the chief guest Professor Mehr Taj Roghani. Dr Yasar Yousafzai coordinated the event.
