KMU Conducts PM&DC NEB Exam
Khyber Medical University (KMU), has conducted the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) National Examination Board (NEB) Examination for Medical and Dental foreign graduates for the year 2012 at Islamabad. VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah, Controller of Examination KMU Prof. Dr. Shahnaz Akhtar and Registrar PM&DC Dr. Nadeem Akbar were also visited the examination halls. According to the details a total of 1924 candidates appeared in the examination in which 1271 were of MBBS Basic Sciences, 640 for MBBS Clinical and 13 for BDS in Basic and Clinical subjects.
Talking on the occasion the Registrar PM&DC Dr. Nadeem Akbar said, PM&DC is a statutory regulatory authority established under Pakistan Medical & Dental Council Ordinance 1962 as a body corporate. It is known and respected worldwide and is part of international community of medical regulatory authorities (IAMRA).
He said Pakistani doctors are considered one of the best and are doing admirable service in all parts of the world and that is evidence to the effective regulation of medical education being done by the PM&DC.
Dr. Nadeem Akbar said no Pakistani Doctor can practice in Pakistan or abroad without being registered with PM&DC. Its main purpose is to safeguard public interest, establish uniform minimum standard of basic & higher qualifications in Medicine & Dentistry throughout Pakistan.
Mean while talking to the examination staff VC KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah has praised the staff of the NEB for organizing the examination in a will organized and fare manner. He further said that the addition of foreign qualified medical graduates would help in the progress of medical sector in Pakistan
