KMU-QEC 1st International Conference on Quality Assurance concludes
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Islamabad said that higher education is becoming a major driver of economic competitiveness in any increasingly knowledge driven global economy. It is imperative for all the under developed countries like Pakistan to improve employment skills calls for quality teaching within their educational institutions having a standardized curriculum acceptable internationally, he was talking as chief guest to the concluding ceremony of 1st International conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education organized by Quality Enhancement Cell of Khyber Medical University, Peshawar.
The chairman Pakistan Science Foundation said advancement of initiatives and activities must be designed to improve systemic and individual knowledge in a way to enable the institutions and the higher education sector to improve their quality management systems to compete in the national and international market securing their due share. He said, “I am confident that this conference will be pivotal in addressing fundamental topics defining major roles of Quality Assurance Managers.”
He hoped that this conference will help us to improve the academic standards, our methods of assessment to achieve the desired levels of knowledge and skills by our graduates to attain and maintain a high level of repute among the stakeholders by adopting quality assurance measures.
The Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Arshad Javaid while sharing his views as concluding remarks said, “I believe that this occasion has not only provided the opportunity to share knowledge, exchange experiences and views about the best quality assurance practices adopted in our unique teaching environments but it will enable all of us to collaborate and strengthen our working relationships for the betterment of higher education nationally and globally.” He hoped that the interaction with the international and national delegates will definitely benefit the participants and deliberations of this conference will go a long way in bringing a positive impact in improving Quality Assurance Systems in our Academic Institutions.
Director KMU-QEC Dr. Jamil Ahmad and chief organizer of the event Miss Syeda Asiyah Bukhari also spoke to the concluding session and at the end VC KMU along with others presented shields and cash prizes to the chief guest as well as key note speakers, winners of oral and poster competitions.
