KMU-QEC ORGANIZED ORIENTATION SEMINAR ON ESTABLISHMENT OF QECS IN MEDICAL / DENTAL COLLEGES OF KP
Quality Enhancement Cell of Khyber Medical University organized orientation seminar on “Establishment of QECS in affiliated medical / dental colleges of KMU” on Thursday, 28th June, 2018. The purpose of this Seminar was to discuss the practices of establishment and strengthening of QECs in all affiliated medical/dental. The Seminar also aimed at providing inputs for future to bring uniformity in QECs of various medical / dental colleges in line with the standards and guide lines of HEC.
The Seminar was attended by principal KMC Peshawar Prof. Dr. Noor ul Eman and representatives from KGMC Hayatabad Peshawar, SMC Swat, BMC Bannu, GKMC Swabi, BKMC Mardan, NMC Nowshehra, GMC DI Khan and KCD Peshawar.
Proceedings of the Seminar started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mr. Sahir Atiq Data Analyst KMU-QEC. Dr. Sadia Fatima, Assistant Prof. KMU-IBMS introduced the participants and upraised about the importance of the topic. Welcome address was given by Registrar KMU Prof. Dr. Saleem Gandapur who focused on the importance of QECs. He also highlighted some of the emerging issues including the fact that the methodologies of teaching is changing and suggested that in future these types of discussions should be keep continued on the said topic.
In setting the scope of deliberations for the Seminar, Miss Sayyada Asiyah Bukhari, Director QEC Khyber Medical University gave presentation on the need and importance of “Establishment of QECS in affiliated medical / dental colleges of KMU”. She explained about the scope, working of QECs and the processes involved in assuring quality at academic, assessment and research levels.
