3 days International Conference on Medical Education & Research kicks off at KMU
Three days 7th International Conference on Medical Education & research organized by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Institute of Health Profession Education & Research (IHPE&R) kicked off simultaneously at nine public and private medical and dental colleges of the province. The first day of the three days international moot was reserved for pre-conference workshops and in this connection two sessions of morning and evening was held in which experts and researchers from abroad and across the country presented their presentations and research papers on different topics related to various aspects of medical education.
According to details in the pre-conference workshops on various topics keynote speakers from abroad such as Dr Jack Boulet from ECFMG, USA; Dr Gohar Wajid from WHO, Egypt; Prof. Dr Alam Sher Malik from Malaysia, and medical universities of the country, such as Prof. Dr Lubna Baig and Dr Moyn Aly from Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi; Prof. Dr Imran Mehmood and Prof. Dr Shahid Shamim from the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi; Dr Muhammad Tariq from the Aga Khan University, Karachi; Dr Mahwish Arooj from the University of Lahore, Dr Sumera Madar Ehsan from the Faisalabad Medical University; Prof. Dr Idrees Anwar from Rawalpindi Medical University; Prof. Dr Rehan Ahmed Khan from Riphah International University, Dr Hassan Shoaib from Shalamar Medical College, Lahore, Mr Shaukat Ali Jawaid from Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences; Prof. Dr Fouzia Gul, Dr Usman Mahboob, Dr Brekhna Jami, and Dr Ahsan Sethi from the Khyber Medical University, Peshawar delivered their presentations.
Meanwhile talking to the workshops Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Arshad Javaid said that it is the need of the hour to bring radical changes in the overall structure and curriculum of the medical education system. He said that findings of the workshops and conference should be used in the better interest of medical education by introducing reforms at all levels. It is worth mentioning that the formal inaugural ceremony of the said conference will be held today on Wednesday 9:00 AM at Multi Purposes Hall of KMU. #
