one day workshop on “Strategies to Develop Chemical and Biological Safety Cultures in Laboratories”

KMU conducted a one day workshop on “Strategies to Develop Chemical and Biological Safety Cultures in Laboratories” in order to educate individuals about biosafety and biosecurity inside lab environment,  Global Chemist Code of Ethics and Scientific writing. Moreover, a fire drill and use of personal protection equipment was also demonstrated.  The workshop was sponsored by Musaji Adams and Sons, TSY Consultancy and American Chemical Society and was organized by KMU biosafety team. The team was led by Dr. Tayyab-ur-Rehman (BSO), Dr. Hafsah Muhammad (Biosafety Course Instructor and IBMS Biosafety Group Organizer), Dr. Yasar Mehmood Yousafzai (Director PHRL) and Mr. Sajjad Ahmad (IBMS Labs Incharge). Ms. Kiran Konain, also assisted as stage secretary.  The occasion was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Arshad Javaid, Registrar Professor Dr. Saleem Gandapur, Dean & Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jawad Ahmad, and Director IBMS Dr. Zille Huma. Around 200 graduate and post graduate students participated from different institutes such as NCS, RMI, RMC, A.W.K.U, North West Institute of A.H.S, IPMS-KMU, IBMS-KMU, UOP, NIFA and CECOS.
