PNQAHE , Organized its 2nd International Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education on April 23-25,2019 at University of Education Lahore

Pakistan Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) organized second International Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education on April 23-25, 2109 in University of Education Lahore with the collaboration of Khyber Medical University and University of Education Lahore. The PNQAHE was established in December 2017 as proposal by Asiyah Bukhari Director QEC with the strong support of prof.Dr.Arshad Javaid Vice Chancellor KMU

On April 23, 2019 there were pre conference workshops by the International Speakers on following areas: 1) Embedding a quality culture in a uni­versity: a management perspective2) The Role of Performance Evaluation Systems within the Quality Assurance Framework: Challenges and Opportu­nities 3) Strategic Planning for your organiza­tion4)Establishing and maintaining a culture of quality5)Constructive Alignment of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment to the Intended Level of Course and Program Learning Outcomes 6) KPI’s and Benchmarking – Improving HEI’s Performance by the Speakers Kethamonie Naidoo Director Accreditation Council on Higher Education (CHE), South Africa, Donald Staub Assistant Professor Department of Business and Management Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University, Turkey, BaharGün Head of the Teacher Development Unit in the School of Foreign Languages Izmir University of Economics Turkey, Bassam Alhamad Director of the Quality Assurance & Accreditation Center, University of Bahrain (UOB), Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering, Bahrain, Selva Staub

In the workshops participants from various Universities took keen interest and attended with full participation. Workshops were planned on most relevant areas pertains to Quality Assurance

On second Day April 24,2019 conference started with the inaugural session . In the inauguration chief Guest was the President PNQAHE ,Prof.Dr.Arshad Javaid (VC KMU) and Guest of Honor was Prof.Dr.Shafique-Rehman ,Adviser of Quality Assurance, Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inaugural was started with the address of General Secretary PNQAHE Asiyah Bukhari , she highlighted the background of PNQAHE and purpose of the Conference.

Prof.Dr.Rauf-e- Azam Vice Chancellor University of Education Lahore welcomed all the delegates of the Conference and International guests and Chief Guest and Guest of honor for the conference in venue at UoE Lahore. Prof.Dr Arshad Javaid thanked the Vice Chancellor UoE for hosting PNQAHE conference in the University. President PNQAHE emphasized the purpose of PNQAHE for the improvement of education standards with the joint efforts of all the stakeholders of the country. Prof.Dr.Shafiq also mentioned the role of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by introducing semester in the colleges and launching Quality Enhancement Cells as project of Higher Education in the colleges of KP. He also mentioned that Higher Education Department established Quality Assurance Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to focus the quality education at higher education level.

Prof.Dr.Azam Ali Khuwaja, former Managing Director, Quality Assurance Agency ,HEC also attended the conference and expressed his views on progressing status of Quality Assurance in Higher education . He appreciated that from 10 QECs which were established in 2006 are expanded now into 184 in number in Higher Education Institutes. Dr.Khuwaja supported the establishment of PNQAHE for its mission at large.

In this conference more than 50 research papers were presented and Keynote speech was delivered by the speakers. In the closing ceremony the ex-Advisor of Quality Assurance Department of Higher Education Commission Riaz Ahmed Quereshi joined as Chief Guest of the ceremony. He highlighted the background of Quality Assurance of Higher Education commission and its scope to internationalize the programs. He appreciated the establishment of Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Conference ended with the vote of thanks by Dr.Mansha , Joint Secretary of PNQAHE .
