Two days 2nd Annual Conference on Advances in Cancer, Histopathology and Haematology Concludes at KMU-IBMS

The Advances in Cancer, Histopathology and Haematology two days 2nd Annual Conference held on 27-28 January, 2017 concludes here at KMU-Institute of Basic Medical Sciences Peshawar. The Conference has showcased the latest research in cancer, histopathology and hematology. According to the Chief Organizer of the event and Director Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS) Prof Dr Jawad Ahmad, this Conference has provided opportunity to bring together researchers and clinicians to share ideas and develop collaborations.

The Conference has also highlighted the latest and more exciting discoveries in different areas of Cancer, Histopathology and Haematology research. In addition, it has provided a unique opportunity to researchers and clinicians to meet, interact, and share ideas. The meeting theme was “Standardizing treatment in developing countries”. In the Conference more than 350 participants participated and 18 workshops were held and more than 40 research papers were presented by various well known and reputed researchers from across the country.

It is worth mentioning that speakers   from all over the country including Agha Khan University Karachi, Shokat Khanum Hospital Lahore and Lahore General Hospital Lahore shared their research papers and views on various aspects of Cancer, Histopathology and Haematology

 Another rich aspect of this Conference was Posters and Oral Presentations in which 60 participants participated. In the Oral Presentations Scholars of IBMS Naeem Khan got 1st while Gulab Fatima Rani secured 3rd positons, where as Dr Usman Tariq of Aga Khan University Karachi grabbed 2nd position. In the Poster Presentations student of PMC, Peshawar Maheen Haq won 1st and students of KMC Peshawar Saad and Salman secured 2nd and Aiman Usman got 3rd positions. A Focus Group Discussion on Clinical Trial Unit was also held on the last day of the Conference. #
