VC KMU Prof Zia Ul Haq honored with FCPS degree in CPSP 55th Convocation

The 55th convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSP) Pakistan has held in pearl continental hotel Peshawar on 26th June 2022. Professor Dr. Muhammad Daud Khan Ex vice-chancellor KMU was the chief guest and Dr. Shahzad Bangash chief secretary KP was the guest of honor, whereas President Professor Dr. Shoaib Shafi, senior vice president Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, along with all councilors of CPSP was also present at the occasion. 
The CPSP senior president mentioned that prior to this FCPS degree, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq possessed the highest qualifications in the field of public health, MBBS (KMC), MPH, Ph.D Public Health (Glasgow), Post-Doctorate (Keele UK), Fellowship (Royal College London, Edinburg & Glasgow). He is working as the youngest vice-chancellor of Pakistan.  It is worth mentioning that KMU has 17 post-graduate institutes, 26 medical & dental colleges, 200 nursing, and allied health sciences attached to it, and 48000 students, and thousands of faculty members across the province. 
Prof. Zia is currently an elected president of the Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) striving to enhance the quality of higher education in all 234 universities of Pakistan and vice-chair of the HEC grant fund. He has published more than 80 research articles and 03 book chapters. He has acquired exceptionally high research funding, worth more than 5 billion Pak Rupees. He is also visiting Professor at the University of Glasgow UK and Nanjing Medical University China.
Prof Zia has supervised 07 Ph.D and more than 35 MPH/M.Phil students. He has received the Higher Education Commission’s Country’s Best Researcher Award, Pakistan Best University Teacher Award & Government of Pakistan Life-Time Achievement Awards. The CPSP president mentioned that Dr. Zia ul Haq would go a long way and is expected to play the role of health leader at the highest national and global level insha'Allah.
