WORKSHOP ON EMERGENCY ROOM TRAUMA COURSE
Khyber Medical University (KMU) in collaboration with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) successfully conducted Emergency Room Trauma Course (ERTC) and a workshop on Emergency Room Trauma Course (ERTC) in the month from 8-10 May 2018. The main objective of the course were; 1: to extend and enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers from FATA and KP in terms of providing emergency room trauma services; 2: To perform the emergency services safely and competently under clinical supervision and independently in their workplaces and 3: To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to understand the necessary accident and emergency care given to all pediatric and adult patients in an emergency departments.
The workshop was attended by 20 participants from FATA and KP including faculty members from KMU. On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the courses, the vice chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Arshad Javaid insisted on routine refresher courses for all healthcare personnel working in the emergency departments all over the FATA and KP. He emphasized that this course is ideal for newly appointed staff of emergency departments and will be a refresher for the experienced staff members. He expressed his gratitude to the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization and the ICRC for developing collaboration in timely need capacity building program.
