Previously, I have worked as an Assistant Professor and am currently working as an Associate Professor in the department of anatomy, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Khyber Medical university. As a founding faculty of the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences , I have played an important role in establishment of department and institute and defining its mission to promote quality in basic medical research
My academic profile as faculty member in biomedical, transnational, cellular and molecular neuroscience is characterized by a strong dedication to both teaching and research. During my Postdoctoral training, I have developed and strengthen my skills in both teaching and research and shared my experiences with peers and actively contributed to the development of research culture at Khyber medical University and others institutes.
My teaching interest includes Neurobiology, Developmental Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics/Molecular Biology and Research Techniques. I mainly focused on providing students with comprehensive understanding of the principle of the structural and functional changes of the cells and living system, through combination of class lecture, assignments, laboratories exercise and interactive session.
My research is primarily focuses on studying the underlying mechanism of oxidative stress, neurodevelopmental, neuropsychological and age-related disorders. Specifically, I am interested to explore potential targets for intervention to develop novel neurotherpeutics to address these conditions by elucidating the cell signaling pathways of neuronal cells and system. Furthermore, I am also interested to investigate the complex cell signaling pathways that regulate cell death and cell survival of the living systems.
I have published many valuable research articles in well reputed international journals, which contributed significantly at international and national level to the scientific community. Based on my performance and research outcome, the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan awarded me two research grants. Recently one of our applied research has been selected for its innovation and impact, resulting in the patenting of our finding in the united State of America (USA).
Furthermore, I have established collaborations with researchers both nationally and internationally. Additionally, I have served as the member of the Graduate studies committee of various institute and reviewer for reputable scientific journals, projects in Pakistan and abroad.
