Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor at an Interdisciplinary Research Center for Biomedical Materials, COMSATS University, Islamabad, Lahore Campus. During that time, I was a member and later on a group leader of dental materials fabrication and commercialization. I have been granted various projects on biomaterial developments. I have supervised students from the University of Health Science, PGMI, and NUMS Rawalpindi. Our main focus was university and industry linkages for biomaterial development and commercialization. Since January 2021 I have joined the department of dental materials, at Khyber Medical University as an Associate Professor. I am teaching and supervising students pursuing MPhils and Ph.D. degrees. I have been involved in curriculum development and evaluation of both MPhil and Ph.D. programs. I have taught characterizations and mechanical properties of dental materials.

Furthermore, I have published more than 250 articles with accumulative impact factor of around 1000 with an H index of 49 and total citations of more than 7,000. I have been granted 3 US patents, 1 Malaysian patent, and 2 Pakistan patents. I have completed 4 research projects and presented my work at conferences at national and international levels. I have been the author of many book chapters and listed as an editorial member of the journal of bio-functional materials and biomedical letters.

As an adept academician, I have enhanced my skills in teaching and research and shared my experiences with peers. I have arranged some important workshops and presentations related to my field. I have been actively involved in the development of a research culture, at Khyber Medical University as well as other institutes. I have national and international collaborators (University of Otago; New Zealand, Sheffield University; UK, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS; Malaysia etc.). Additionally, I have been a member of the Graduate studies committee of various institutes. As a reviewer I have assigned article from reputed journals, projects in Pakistan and abroad and thesis of students from Malaysia, Australia and South Africa.
