Dr. Yasar Yousafzai works as Associate Professor (Haematology) at the Institute of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine, Khyber Medical University. He has been involved in diagnostic pathology for two decades. He received Pathology training at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center and FCPS-II (Haematology) training at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar. He earned a post-graduate diploma in Evidence Based Medicine & Research and PhD Haematology from the University of Glasgow, UK.
At KMU, Dr Yousafzai looks after the IPDM, and the Provincial Public Health Reference Laboratory. His research interests include benign and malignant haematological disorders. His specialties include PCR, Next-generation sequencing, and Flow cytometry, in addition to routine morphological diagnosis.
His career highlights include a Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in Medicine (2021), and Global Award for Science and Sustainability (2023).

He supervises M. Phil and PhD students of Haematology.
