The Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS), Khyber Medical University, proudly celebrated the 21st Biannual Anatomy Research Day in conjunction with World Anatomy Day, continuing the rich academic tradition of the Anatomy Department. The event brought together faculty and scholars for a day dedicated to scientific dialogue, research evaluation, and academic inspiration.

The program opened with an introductory talk by Dr. Najma Baseer, who welcomed participants and highlighted the significance of research culture within anatomical sciences. The sessions were moderated by MPhil scholar Dr. Abdus Samad, who skillfully guided the presentations throughout the event. A diverse series of student research presentations followed, covering a wide range of topics including clinical anatomy, dentistry, neuroscience and surgical anatomy. The Anatomy Department formally assessed the progress of all anatomy scholars, providing constructive feedback, academic guidance, and direction for further refinement of their research work.

Prof. Dr. Inayat Shah, Director IBMS, commended the dedication and growing potential of the department and its scholars. The event also welcomed Prof. Dr. Nawshad Muhammad, whose presence added encouragement and academic support. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Zilli Huma shared motivating remarks, urging scholars to expedite their research work and maintain momentum toward timely completion and publication. A key highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding student performance. Dr. Mahvish and Dr. Quratulain received the Best Presenter Awards, acknowledging their impactful delivery. Dr. Khurram Saidal was awarded Best Research Progress, reflecting his consistent dedication.

The 21st Biannual Anatomy Research Day once again underscored KMU’s commitment to fostering scholarly excellence, nurturing scientific curiosity, and supporting high-quality research. Celebrating World Anatomy Day alongside this academic gathering further emphasized the foundational importance of anatomy in medical education and health sciences.
