Islamic Society of Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar organized Husn-e-Qirat and Naat Khawani competitions at Dr. Hafizullah Auditorium

Dr. Mehreen Rehman Assistant Professor IPS and Miss Samia Syed Leader Islamic Society hosted the event. Internationally renowned Qari Abdul Rauf Madani was the chief guest of this spirited event, while the director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) Dr. Sami Siraj, faculty, and large numbers of students were also present at the occasion. Students of various institutes of the university including INS, IPM&R, IPS, IMH&BS, and IPH&SS participated in Husn-e-Qirat and Naat Khawani competitions while Qari Fawad Hussain and Qari Inayatullah were the judges of the competition.

According to the results, INS student Muhammad Khalid won the first position, IPM&R student Jawaria Zahid secured the second position and IPS student Muhammad Ibrahim grabbed the third position in the Husn-e-Qirat competition, whereas Muhammad Faran, a student of INS, clinched the first position, Nasir Ali of IPS stood at second position and Palwasha, a student of IPM&R, got the third position.

At the end of the ceremony, all the position holders were awarded with certificates while the chief guest was presented with an honorary shield by the director IPS on behalf of faculty and students. 

Qari Abdul Rauf Madani, while addressing the ceremony as a chief guest, said that such positive and healthy activities in educational institutions are the need of the hour. He said that the Holy Qur'an is the last inspired holy book of Allah, which is obligatory for all Muslims to understand, read, follow, and convey to others. He said that the recitation of one letter of the Qur'an is rewarded with ten good deeds, so we must give some time in our twenty-four hours of life to the recitation and translation

 of the Holy Quran.

He said that naat is an excellent way of expressing love and devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the interest of our students in naat khwani is a practical expression of love and devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He expressed the hope that such positive activities will not only be continued in Khyber Medical University but students from other public and private institutions affiliated to KMU will also be given an opportunity to participate in them.
