President of Pakistan confers Sitara-i-Imtiaz on Prof Dr. Zia ul Haq, VC KMU for his outstanding contribution in the fields of education, research and public health

Khyber Medical University (KMU) is honored to announce that on the recommendation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the President of Pakistan has awarded the Civil Award of 'Sitara-I-Imtiaz' to our esteemed Vice Chancellor, & Meritorious Professor of Public Health, Dr Zia Ul Haq. His name for the civil award was proposed by both the KP Govt. & Chairman HEC due to his unprecedented leadership in the field of higher education, medical research & public health.

At the age of 40, Dr. Zia became the youngest VC at KMU & is now in his second tenure. He has completely transformed the University into a modern futuristic tech center, 100% self-sustainable, accessible, research-intensive, & a learning seat of the highest quality. He is currently leading the taskforce for higher education in KP, & a number of provincial & central committees related to medical education and public health. 

He is the lead investigator for several significant international research projects.
