Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, has once again brought immense pride to Pakistan as its Vice Chancellor and Meritorious Professor of Public Health, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, has been ranked among the Top 2% Scientists in the World, according to the latest global ranking released by Stanford University, USA, in collaboration with Elsevier.

The Stanford University Top 2% Scientists list is updated annually. It identifies the world’s most influential scientists across all disciplines, based on standardized citation indicators and verified data. The ranking highlights those whose scholarly work has made a significant global impact.

Earlier this year (March 2025), in recognition of his distinguished services to higher education, research, and public health, the President of Pakistan conferred upon Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz, one of the nation’s highest civil awards.

The Chief Minister/Chancellor of KMU, the Minister of Health, faculty, students, and staff of Khyber Medical University have expressed great pride in this achievement, noting that it not only brings honor to KMU but also showcases Pakistan’s growing research excellence on the international stage.
