Successful Completion of the ORIC 3rd Steering Committee Meeting at KMU

The 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the Khyber Medical University Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) was conducted under the esteemed Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor KMU. The meeting convened in the Committee Room of the Vice Chancellor's Secretariat, drawing participation from key stakeholders and luminaries of academia and industry.

The meeting chaired by VC KMU, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, the meeting saw the presence of distinguished figures including Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences; Prof. Dr. Fuzia Gul, Dean of Clinical Sciences; Mr. Awais Adnan Director of IM Sciences; Dr. Zohaib Khan Director ORIC,  Dr. Yasir Yousafzai, Director of IPDM, Dr. Zeeshan Kibria Additional Director ORIC, Waseem Riaz, Treasurer KMUMs. Uzma Shah Manage ORIC CECOS University, Dr. Saima Abid, President of Public Health Association; Waseem Ul Haq Manager BIC; Dr. M. Naveed Iqbal Manager Uni Industry Linkage,  Mr. Azmat Ali  AD ORIC; Numan Nazir AD ORIC, Zafar Hayat AD Finance ORIC and other esteemed attendees.

The primary objectives of the ORIC steering committee were outlined and deliberated upon during the meeting:

1. Devising and approving the strategic plan of ORIC to foster innovation and research excellence.

2. Advising and monitoring the ORIC leadership to ensure the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

3. Providing policy guidance to enhance the effectiveness and impact of ORIC initiatives.

4. Ensuring alignment of ORIC activities with the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders.

5. Promoting and strengthening academia-industry linkages to facilitate knowledge exchange and technology transfer.

6. Offering insights into research management and addressing challenges within the university ecosystem.

7. Providing guidance for the optimal functioning of ORICs to maximize their impact and contribution.

8. Approving the annual ORIC research budget and associated financial assistance and research grants to support scholarly endeavors.

The collaborative efforts and commitment demonstrated by all participants underscore the university's dedication to fostering a culture of innovation, research, and collaboration. The outcomes of the meeting are poised to further elevate KMU's position as a hub of academic excellence and innovation in the region.
