A cafeteria was inaugurated at Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar Main Campus. The inauguration was done by the vice-chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, while on this occasion, the registrar of the university Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Gandapur, members of KMU selection board Prof. Dr. Ejaz Hasan Khattak, Prof. Dr. Zahid Aman, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb, Prof. Dr. Naeemullah, Dr. Muhammad Jaseem Khan, Dr. Saima Afaq and Dr. Asia Bukhari, heads of various departments, faculty and a large number of students were also present.
Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq while addressing as chief guest the opening ceremony of the cafeteria said that KMU is one of the leading universities in the country in terms of knowledge and research and the university offers certificate and diploma courses up to undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil and PhD level quality education and training, however, due to the lack of standard canteen in the university, students, faculty and administrative staff were facing difficulties, but now with the inauguration of a new cafeteria, this long-standing problem has also been solved.
He said that with the establishment of the new cafeteria, the students and staff will now be able to fulfill their food needs in a clean and pleasant environment. He said that we are trying our best to provide education and other recreation facilities to the students on a priority basis and the opening of the new cafeteria is a step forward in this regard.
Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq said that there will be no compromise on the quality of food and beverages items in the cafeteria and all the items will be provided at subsidized rates. He also directed the management and staff of the cafeteria to treat the students and visitors with good manners and not to compromise on the quality of food and cleanliness. In the end, a special prayer was also offered for the success of the cafeteria in which all the participants participated and expressed good wishes for the success of the cafeteria.
