Without quality education development and target cannot be achieved: Meena Khan

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for higher education archives and libraries Meena Khan Afridi has said that quality education and research is very important for development of a nation.

"Without quality education a nation cannot achieve  its target and development" he said as a chief guest in the closing ceremony of three day progress review meeting & training for Quality Enhancement Cell organized by Quality Assurance Agency, Higher  Education Commission (HEC)in collaboration with Khyber Medical University Peshawar.

He highlighted the paramount importance of quality education and commended the HEC and Pakistan for its role  emphasized the need to prioritize and promote quality education, as the world looks to us for our standards. 

He also expressed appreciation for the Progress Review Meetings and Consultative Workshops on Pakistan's Precept, Standards, and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PSG-2023)

Furthermore, Mr. Meena Khan underscored the ongoing significance of these consultative workshops, emphasizing their pivotal role as a platform for fostering understanding and facilitating effective implementation strategies.

 He stressed that these endeavors will persist in illuminating the crucial role they play in both sustaining and elevating the standard of education throughout Pakistan. 

By fostering ongoing dialogue and collaboration, these workshops will serve as catalysts for continuous improvement in the realm of education quality assurance across the nation.

The event, attended by esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders, witnessed profound insights and commitments towards advancing the quality of higher education across Pakistan.

During his address, Vice Chancellor KMU Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq  extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and all participants, emphasizing the inclusive spirit of the occasion. In his speech, he eloquently outlined the paramount significance of PSG-2023 in leading a transformative journey for higher education. Dr. Zia stressed its pivotal role in steering the ethos of education towards enhancement and student-centricity. 


Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General of Quality Assurance at HEC, delved into PSG-2023's advantages, highlighting its role in preserving and elevating educational standards domestically and internationally. He emphasized its capacity to foster a culture of improvement and accountability within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), ensuring responsiveness to evolving needs.

Executive Director HED, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Qauym, emphasized the imperative of promoting quality education, stressing that every individual within the teaching profession must assume responsibility for utilizing available resources effectively. He underscored the importance of a collaborative effort among educators to enhance educational standards, ensuring that each student receives a high-quality learning experience. Dr. Khan urged educators to meticulously refine their teaching methods and utilize resources efficiently to achieve this collective goal of delivering quality education to all.

The Consultative Workshop's conclusion signifies a collective commitment towards advancing educational quality in Pakistan, guided by the principles of PSG-2023. As the nation embarks on this transformative journey, PSG-2023 stands as a beacon of progress, promising a future where education drives societal advancement and prosperity.
