Objectives

The learner would be able to;

2. Apply educational psychology for better transfer of knowledge skills and attitudes to students.

3. Develop skills like critical thinking and problem solving among students and teachers.

4. Apply skills to enhance motivation and intelligence in students learning.

5. Apply knowledge to develop teaching and learning strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning in an educational environment.

6. Demonstrates abilities to guide students in developing their learning strategies, keeping them motivated and eventually becoming self directed learners;

7. Recognizes challenges and barriers in planning and implementing teaching and learning strategies in diverse and locally unique teaching and learning environment in both clinical and non-clinical setups.

8. Demonstrate skills to use e-learning and information technologies to develop and manage computerized teaching and learning solutions.

9. Demonstrate skills of evidence-based researcher and use literature to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

10. Demonstrate appropraite professional behaviour such as, showing respect to colleagues and course facilitators, self-directed learning skills and lifelong learning skills.

  • The students will be able to;
    • Apply various facilitation enhancement skills in conducting educational sessions like workshops.
    • Apply the various leadership competencies.
    • Discuss characteristics of a leader and the different leadership styles.
    • Discuss leadership theories and choose the applicable leadership theory for the situation.
    • Develop and manage effective teams and act as a leader.
    • Assess, quantify and mitigate risks.
    • Discuss a Crisis Portfolio and prepare for a broad set of crises and detect the early warning signals that precede all crises.
    • Demonstrates excellent leadership qualities for the best interest of his profession and institution; An effective communicator and team player; An effective communicator and team player;
    • Establish and run medical education department, perform situation analysis, identify key educational issues, and suggest an effective solution at the institutional level;
    • Develop strategies, policies, and procedures and produce strategic and operational plans for effectively running the medical education system in an institute.

    7. Write project reports and disseminate findings in the form of reports and research articles.

  • The students will be able to;

    • Discuss modern principles of assessment.
    • Apply principles of assessment to develop assessment plan
    • Discuss various tools and apply them in examination settings
    • Perform pre exam and post exam analysis.
    • Apply various methods of standard setting in examination
    • Perform administrative responsibilities related to assessment such as managing questions data bank, scanning of OMRs, calculating various assessment indices (e.g. Reliability index, discrimination index, difficulty index etc.) and develop assessment reports;
    • Powerful user of researcher and evidence as tools to improve the quality of assessment.
    • Discuss audit, quality and evaluation and their principles.
    • Develop an appropriate, reliable and feasible, audit and evaluation plan for various educational programs.
    • Develop program evaluation plan for different settings as in accreditation and recognition.
  • The students will be able to;

    1. Discuss curriculum and its various types, various curriculum perspectives and their approaches.
    2. Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of current curriculum and lead the process of modifying or restructuring curriculum based on community needs and formal national requirements;
    3. Lead curriculum development, management and evaluation process and ensure successful implementation of the curriculum in an institution;
    4. Recognizes challenges and barriers in planning, implementation and management of a curriculum and suggests solutions.
    5. Demonstrates skills to develop various kinds of curricula (e.g. problem based, systems based),
    6. Perform integration at various levels and develop a curriculum that improves the knowledge, skills and the attitudes of learners.Act as a team leader and develop a curricular committee.
    7. Demonstrate skills to use e-learning and information technologies to develop and manage computerized curriculum management system.
    8. Powerful user of researcher and evidence as tools to improve the quality of curriculum management system.
